The Tao is infinite, eternal
Why is it eternal?
It was never born, thus it can never die
Why is it infinite?
It has no desires for itself
Thus it is present for all beings.
The Master stays behind
That is why she is ahead
She is detached from all things
That is why she is one with them
Because she has let go of herself,
She is perfectly fulfilled.

Why is it eternal?

My Country Awake
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been split
Into narrow domestic walls;
Where words sprout from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving reaches its arms to fulfillment;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost
Its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habits;
Where the mind is led forward by thee
into ever-expanding thought and action --
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
let my country awake!
